Gritty Film

What type of camera should I use to get a kind of gritty texture to the picture. I am making an Evil Dead-kinda horror movie.

super 8 would be good to use, not only can you get experience using film...it's cheap! If you go to a post production house... www.bucks.co.uk ...they can do a professional telecine to tape. [Depends how much money you have to spend] You can then edit on video. The only thing is...you will have to record your sound seperately on...a mini disk or tape if nothing else and sync it up to the picture. It would take time but would look good. I suggest you get a cheap super 8 cam, a film and see what you think.
